Today is India’s 75th Republic Day, which was observed by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.
The Indian national flag was raised to commemorate the occasion at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu by the Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava.

He sent his best greetings to the Indian diaspora in Nepal on this auspicious occasion. There was also a video clip of Indian President Droupadi Murmu’s speech to the country.
The Indian President discussed in the video message the several accomplishments India has made since the country’s last Independence Day, such as the G20 Summit that India chaired and the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
In a similar vein, the Indian envoy recognized and gave blankets and Rs 50.7 million to the spouses of the fallen servicemen as well as their close relatives.

To reaffirm his commitment to helping former Indian Gurkha soldiers, he launched the journal Ex-2024, which details the humanitarian initiatives the Indian government has done on behalf of the former soldiers who are now living in Nepal.
Additionally, the Indian Embassy gave books valued at Rs 1.9 million to thirty distinct organizations on this special occasion.
