In the wake of incessant rains that have ravaged parts of Nepal, a series of deadly landslides have claimed more than 200 lives, with many still missing or injured.

In response to this escalating crisis, the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) National Coordination Council China, along with the Zhejiang Regional Committee, has swiftly mobilized to distribute relief to the most severely affected areas.

The relief effort, aimed at providing immediate support to the victims of Balefi Rural Ward No. 2 Archale and Jugal Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 Kunegaun in Sindhupalchowk district, has brought much-needed supplies to flood-affected families.

Pradeep Nepal, Secretary-General of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) National Coordination Council China, Council has distributed essential food items, including rice, oil, salt, and blankets, to the affected communities. The emergency supplies were handed over in the presence of prominent local leaders and representatives, including Madhav Sapkota, Member of the House of Representatives, Saral Sahayatri, and Amrita Nepal, the Members of Provincial Assembly, Balefi Rural Municipality President Gangabahadur Tamang, Jugal Rural Municipality President Resham Sangwo, and Balefi Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 President Chhabilal Bhuiyan.

The disaster, which began with torrential rain on September 26, has caused significant destruction across the region, including collapsed homes, damaged infrastructure, and blocked roads, leaving hundreds of families displaced and in urgent need of aid.

The devastation has particularly affected rural areas, where landslides have destroyed bridges and cut off access to basic services, further complicating relief efforts. While rescue operations are underway, the scale of the destruction poses a significant challenge, and aid organizations continue to work around the clock to provide shelter and essential supplies to displaced families.

As the region braces for more potential rainfall, authorities are urging residents in vulnerable areas to stay alert and take precautions, while international and local organizations work together to ensure continued support for those affected by this devastating natural disaster.
