Arzu Deuba Rana Meets Indian PM Modi in Landmark Visit to New Delhi

Nepal’s Foreign Minister, Arzu Deuba Rana, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during her visit to New Delhi.

In a post on X, Minister Rana shared her thoughts on the meeting: “I had a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, in New Delhi this evening. We discussed the rich and multifaceted relationship between Nepal and India. As Nepal’s Foreign Minister, I am eager for the upcoming discussions and engagements, which I believe will strengthen our historic ties.”

Earlier in the day, Minister Rana held talks with her Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar, focusing on important bilateral issues.

This trip marks Dr. Rana’s first to the Indian capital, following an invitation from her Indian counterpart, S. Jaishankar.

This visit is significant as it represents the first high-level exchange between the two nations since the formation of Prime Minister KP Oli’s government in Nepal.

Minister Rana is expected to return to Nepal on August 22.
