Nepal’s Foreign Minister Arzu Deuba Rana met with her Indian counterpart, S. Jaishankar, in New Delhi on Monday. This visit marks Rana’s first trip to New Delhi, following an invitation from Jaishankar.
During her visit, Minister Rana expressed her satisfaction on X, stating, “Had a productive meeting with Minister of External Affairs, Dr. Jaishankar in New Delhi. We discussed bilateral interests, various aspects of Nepal-India relations, and the exchange of mutual cooperation. I am confident this visit will further strengthen the centuries-old bond between Nepal and India.”
Earlier today, the meeting began with Jaishankar welcoming Minister Rana, where their discussions centered around key bilateral issues.
This visit is notable as it is the first high-level engagement between Nepal and India since the formation of the government led by Prime Minister KP Oli.
Minister Arzu Rana Deuba is scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 7 PM on Monday evening and will return to Nepal on August 22.
