The Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Mishal Mohammed Al Ansari, paid a courtesy visit to Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal at the Ministry on Monday. This meeting marks a crucial step in enhancing diplomatic relations between Nepal and Qatar.
During their discussions, both dignitaries explored various facets of Nepal-Qatar relations. Their constructive dialogue focused on strengthening cooperation and fostering mutual understanding between the two nations.
The shared commitment of Nepal and Qatar to deepen bilateral ties across sectors such as trade, investment, labor, and cultural exchanges was underscored. Both parties expressed determination to solidify the existing friendship and collaboration for the mutual benefit of their people.
Adding to the diplomatic momentum, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is scheduled to visit Nepal. His arrival on November 6 for a two-day visit holds immense importance. It will be the first time that a head of government and head of state from Qatar, a major labor destination for Nepalis, will visit Nepal.
The visit is expected to foster a development partnership between Nepal and Qatar.
Officials anticipate that Qatar will explore investment opportunities in various development and construction sectors within Nepal. This collaborative effort aims to benefit both nations and strengthen their enduring friendship.
