US Based Nepali Professor Joshi Comes with ‘Peace Songs’

Renowned Nepali professor and poet, Dr. Mohan Joshi, based in the United States, has unveiled a captivating music album centered around themes of spirituality and peace.

Known for his recently published poetry anthology, “A Hundred Flowers to Awareness and Death,” Dr. Joshi has now ventured back into the realm of music again, pouring his soul into the creation of this harmonious collection. In his own words, the album’s lyrics are a spiritual journey, complemented by the musical expertise of Nepalese veteran, Nhyoo Bajracharya.

The melodic renditions within the album are brought to life by the enchanting voices of esteemed singers Ani Choying Drolma, Ram Krishna Dhakal, and Bala Bhattarai.

Dr. Joshi’s creative prowess doesn’t stop at poetry; his poetic insight spans a wide spectrum. In his previous work, “A Hundred Flowers to Awareness and Death,” he explored a myriad of themes resonating with the monumental expressions of life, awareness, and death, weaving a tapestry of profound reflections.

Beyond his artistic pursuits, Dr. Joshi is an expert in antibiotic resistance, with two decades of experience supporting 21 low- and middle-income countries in the technical implementation of antimicrobial resistance containment and pharmaceutical systems.

His multifaceted career includes serving as the editor of the Journal of the Institute of Medicine and the Journal of Nepal Medical Associations.

In 2011, he added another feather to his literary cap with the publication of the anthology “Kaha Chha Thaaun” (Where Is The Place), followed by his role as the lyricist for a Nepali audio album of the same name released in 2012.

Since 2006, Dr. Joshi has been a stalwart at the Institute for Health Management Sciences in the United States, contributing significantly to the field. Before his U.S. tenure, he held the position of assistant dean at the Institute of Medical Studies under Tribhuvan University in Nepal, imparting knowledge at the Maharajgunj campus and TRI College.

His academic journey also saw him as a professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, showcasing the depth and diversity of his expertise.
