The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has granted a seven-day extension for additional applications for the position of Executive Director at the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA). This extension comes as the initial deadline did not yield a sufficient number of applications.

MoFA sources reveal that only five candidates responded to the earlier notice, with just one meeting the minimum qualification criteria. In response to this, a second notice has been issued by the decision made during the Selection and Recommendation Committee meeting responsible for appointing the IFA Executive Director.
Standard procedure dictates that a minimum of three candidates should be recommended. However, due to the shortfall in the number of qualified applicants meeting the minimum requirements, MoFA finds the current pool inadequate for recommendations. Consequently, the decision has been made to extend the application deadline by seven days.
The Selection and Recommendation Committee has reissued the invitation for applications for the executive director position, adhering to the previously established criteria.
