On Sunday, Nepalese Members of Parliament (MPs) paid a prominent visit to the Wankhade Cricket Stadium in Mumbai.

The visit gains significance in the context of Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar’s recent commitment to promoting cricket in Nepal.

During his latest visit to Nepal, Minister Jaishankar announced a groundbreaking initiative, extending an offer of a ‘home ground’ on Indian soil to the Nepali national cricket team. Captain Rohit Poudel expressed sincere gratitude for this unexpected and generous gesture from the Indian government.

Led by Chairman Raj Kishore Yadav of the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations and Tourism, the delegation of eight members is currently on an official visit to India from January 30 to February 6.

The visit is taking place in response to an invitation from India’s corresponding Parliamentary Committee, highlighting the growing ties between the two nations.

The Nepalese delegation is actively engaging in diplomatic conversations. The objective of these discussions is to enhance collaboration and address shared challenges for the mutual benefit of both countries.
