FM Saud Holds Bilateral Meeting with New Zealand’s Counterpart

Minister for Foreign Affairs NP Saud engaged in productive bilateral discussions with Winston Peters, New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, during a meeting held on Wednesday.

The Embassy of Nepal in Australia, which also oversees New Zealand, issued a press release detailing the positive exchange between the two nations.

Both sides expressed contentment with the robust state of bilateral relations and explored avenues to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

An interaction program organized by the Nepali Society in Wellington, in collaboration with the Honorary Consul of Nepal to New Zealand, provided an opportunity for Minister Saud and the visiting delegation to engage with the local Nepali community.

Discussions during the interaction session focused on improving passport and consular services for Nepali residents in New Zealand, as well as leveraging the expertise of the Nepali diaspora for the country’s benefit.

Minister Saud also had the opportunity to visit the Parliament of New Zealand and observe the Question Time, further fostering dialogue and understanding between the two nations.

In addition to the bilateral meeting, the Second edition of the Nepal-New Zealand Foreign Ministry Consultation (FMC) took place, where senior officials from both countries reviewed various aspects of bilateral relations and discussed strategies for enhancing economic and cultural ties.

Minister Saud’s visit to New Zealand, following his engagements in Australia, underscores Nepal’s commitment to strengthening ties with Pacific nations.

He is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on Thursday, concluding his visit to both Australia and New Zealand.
