Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’Prachanda,’ has affirmed Nepal’s adherence to the ‘One China Policy’ during a special event celebrating the Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival.
He explicitly stated that Taiwan is not a separate entity from China, aligning with the joint statement issued during his recent official visit to China.

Highlighting the shared civilization, rivers, and the Himalayan range between Nepal and China, Prime Minister Prachanda emphasized the strong bonds connecting the two countries. He reiterated Nepal’s commitment to the ‘One China’ policy, emphasizing that changes in internal and external affairs would not alter this commitment.
Reflecting on his discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his recent visit to China, Prime Minister Dahal underscored the depth of Nepal-China relations based on peaceful coexistence and the principles of Panchsheel. He described the relationship as that of “real friends,” understanding each other’s sensitivities closely.
Addressing the cultural and traditional ties, Prime Minister Dahal noted that these bonds further strengthen the people-to-people relationship between Nepal and China. The Chinese Ambassador to Nepal also expressed China’s commitment to the Belt and Road Initiative, expressing eagerness to collaborate with Nepal on various development projects.

Prime Minister Prahcanda reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to not allowing external interference in its internal affairs. He emphasized the mutual respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and dignity between Nepal and China, highlighting their close and reliable relationship based on the principles of peaceful coexistence and Panchsheel.
