Pakistan Embassy and NPYC Provide Relief to Flood-Affected Families in Ilam

The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu, in partnership with the Nepal-Pakistan Youth Council (NPYC), extended humanitarian assistance to families affected by recent floods in Ilam District.

On October 17, the delegation led by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, distributed relief materials to affected households in Mangsebung and Phakphokthum Rural Municipalities. The relief event was held at Gajurmukhi Dham, where the ambassador was joined by various officials from Nepal.

Ambassador Hashmi conveyed condolences and solidarity to the affected families, emphasizing the longstanding friendship between the peoples of Nepal and Pakistan. He also praised the resilience of local communities and the coordinated efforts of federal, provincial, and local authorities in responding to the disaster.

In a special gesture, the ambassador announced four scholarships for MBBS, BDS, and B. Pharmacy programs under Pakistan’s PTAP scheme, along with fifty scholarships for higher secondary students from flood-affected areas of Ilam, to be facilitated through NPYC.

Earlier, Ambassador Hashmi met Koshi Province’s Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, Riwati Bhandhari, in Biratnagar, where he conveyed Pakistan’s condolences and discussed continued cooperation in humanitarian support.
