The Government of Nepal has confirmed that Nepali students and nationals currently in Pakistan are in regular contact with the Nepali Embassy in Islamabad.
Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, concerns have been raised over the safety of Nepali students studying in Pakistan, with calls for the government to initiate their return to Nepal.
In a press release issued on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Embassy of Nepal in Pakistan is actively working to ensure the safety and welfare of all Nepalis residing there, including students.
“The Government of Nepal is fully aware of the recent developments and is committed to ensuring the safety and interests of Nepali students and nationals in Pakistan,” the statement reads. “To this end, the embassy remains in constant communication with all concerned individuals,” the statement further reads.
The MoFA further informed that embassy officials have been assigned to provide immediate assistance if required and have been instructed to remain accessible for any urgent needs.
