The Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation for Democracy, Peace, and Development organized a special program titled Legacy of Friendship: 70 Years of Nepal-China Relations Through the Lens,” a photo exhibition celebrating seven decades of diplomatic ties between Nepal and China.

The event brought together key political and diplomatic figures, including Former Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, ujata Koirala, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Mr. Chen Song, and Nepali Congress senior leader, Dr. Shekhar Koirala.
These distinguished guests not only inaugurated the exhibition but also reflected on the significance of Nepal-China relations over the years.
Speaking at the event, President Deuba highlighted China’s continued support in Nepal’s development efforts, particularly in infrastructure, trade, tourism, cultural exchanges, and climate initiatives. He reaffirmed Nepal’s strong commitment to the One China policy and expressed hope for increased collaboration in the future.

Sujata Koirala emphasized the deep-rooted cultural and diplomatic connections between the two nations, stating that mutual cooperation has been a foundation for strengthening economic and social ties. She underscored the importance of people-to-people connections and hoped the exhibition would further foster bilateral goodwill.
Chinese Ambassador Mr. Chen Song, in his remarks, recognized Nepal-China relations as a model of friendship and strategic cooperation, built on shared values and mutual support. He highlighted the role of high-level exchanges in reinforcing trust and fostering economic partnerships between the two countries.

Senior leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala praised China’s contributions to Nepal’s development and reaffirmed Nepal’s position as a steadfast partner in diplomatic and economic cooperation. He emphasized Nepal’s continued support for Chinese concerns and interests while advocating for further strengthening bilateral trade and investment.

The exhibition showcased historical milestones of Nepal-China diplomacy, including state visits, cultural exchanges, and significant moments of mutual trust and cooperation. It offered visitors a visual journey through decades of partnership, illustrating Nepal’s evolving relationship with China.
