Nepalese Students in Beijing Mark New Year Celebration with Newly Established Association

Nepalese students in Beijing hosted a vibrant New Year’s Eve gathering on Sunday, heralding the arrival of the Nepali New Year 2082 with energy and unity.

The event, the first official initiative of the newly established Association of Nepalese Students (ANS) in China (Beijing Chapter), drew an enthusiastic crowd of over 80 attendees, including students from various universities, professionals, and senior representatives from the Nepali Embassy in Beijing.

Spearheaded by Beijing Chapter President Er. Sharan Thapa, a PhD candidate at the Beijing Institute of Technology, the celebration marked the association’s inaugural meet-up as a unifying forum for Nepal’s academic community in Beijing.

Manahari Dangal, First Secretary of the Nepali Embassy in Beijing, delivered a speech as chief guest, applauding the association’s mission to advance student welfare and academic collaboration. He emphatically pledged the embassy’s full support to ensure the group’s success.

Ms. Sumitra Paudel, second secretary of the embassy, joined the program as a special guest, extending heartfelt New Year wishes to Beijing’s Nepali students and professionals while reinforcing the embassy’s commitment to their growth and well-being.

President Sharan Thapa announced the association’s imminent transition from an informal network to an aspirant formalized body, underscoring its ambitious agenda to establish a unified national forum for Nepali students across China to champion academic excellence, professional development, and cross-cultural exchange, etc.


The association has expressed its wholehearted commitment to compliance with all laws of respected institutions and the laws of the host country.

The association has already established a regional framework, integrating chairs from every provincial committee into its central executive body. This structure ensures nationwide representation and positions the organization as a dynamic hub for Nepal’s student community in China.
