Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli returned home on Saturday after completing an official visit to Thailand and attending the 6th Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
A delegation led by PM Oli landed in Nepal on Saturday afternoon after completing their trip to Thailand, as stated by a member of his secretariat.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, who was invited as the chief guest at the Sagarmatha Dialogue, will not come to Nepal.
“Modiji should not come to the Sagarmatha Dialogue this time, he is already scheduled to go to Europe”,Prime Minister Oli said, adding that he could not come here as the program was set. But, there will be presence of a high-level delegation of India. “
Oli’s delegation had left for Thailand on Tuesday, had gone to attend the 6th BIMSTEC Summit held in Bangkok. During his stay, PM Oli participated in various meetings and interactions.
On Friday, he had a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This marks the first official visit to Thailand by a Nepali Prime Minister, made at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.
