India’s Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, has arrived in Kathmandu today for a two-day official visit, responding to an invitation from Nepal’s Foreign Secretary, Sewa Lamsal.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Misri was welcomed by Secretary Lamsal. The visit underscores the ongoing commitment of India to its relationship with Nepal, an integral part of India’s ‘Neighborhood First’ policy, as highlighted by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.
Throughout his visit, Foreign Secretary Misri is scheduled to engage in discussions with senior officials of the Nepalese government. These talks will cover a broad range of topics related to Nepal-India relations, mutual interests, and areas of cooperation.
India and Nepal share long-standing civilizational and cultural ties, further reinforced by increased collaboration in recent years. India has played a significant role in supporting Nepal through various infrastructure and connectivity projects, demonstrating the strength of their partnership.
This visit is a continuation of the regular exchange of high-level visits between the two nations, aimed at deepening bilateral ties and exploring new opportunities for collaboration. Secretary Misri is expected to return to India on Monday.
