Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli assumed office on Monday, marking his third term in the executive role.
After a swearing-in ceremony at the President’s residence, Oli paid tribute to martyrs before proceeding to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to begin his duties.
The newly appointed Prime Minister has expressed his readiness to collaborate closely with neighboring India, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his warm congratulations. In a social media statement, PM Oli emphasized his commitment to enhancing Nepal-India relations for mutual benefit.
“Thank you, Prime Minister @narendramodi, for your warm congratulations. I am committed to working closely with you to strengthen Nepal-India relations for our mutual benefit. Together, we can elevate our historic ties to new heights,” PM Oli stated.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had congratulated Oli, affirming India’s commitment to deepening the bonds of friendship and expanding cooperation for the progress and prosperity of both nations.
“Congratulations @kpsharmaoli on your appointment as the Prime Minister of Nepal. Look forward to working closely to further strengthen the deep bonds of friendship between our two countries and to further expand our mutually beneficial cooperation for the progress and prosperity of our peoples,” Prime Minister Modi posted on his social media platform X today.
President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
