PM Prachanda Announces Reforms in Ambassador Appointments

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ announced that the appointment of ambassadors will become more systematic, respectful, transparent, and performance-based.

Responding to lawmakers’ questions during today’s House of Representatives meeting, the prime minister emphasized that ambassadorial appointments would align with Nepal’s constitution and foreign policy, ensuring they serve the nation’s best interests.

“The government is committed to mobilizing diplomatic missions and heads of missions abroad in the best interest of the nation,” stated Prime Minister Prachanda.

He added that, according to the Guidelines for the Appointment of Ambassadors, 2075, the government has the authority to recall ambassadors before their term expires if necessary.

He further explained that the government is adhering to a policy of objectively evaluating ambassadors and managing them to enhance the country’s interests and diplomacy.
