US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R. Thompson, paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the two engaged in discussions related to Nepal-US bilateral relations and explored opportunities for cooperation.
Kamal Giri, the press coordinator for DPM Shrestha, confirmed the exchange of views during this diplomatic encounter.
Previously, Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava and Chinese Ambassador Chen Song had also met with the newly appointed Foreign Minister, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, at Singhadurbar to congratulate him.
Minister Shrestha, in assuming his office, underscored the significance of diplomatic courtesy for Nepal. He emphasized the need for a balanced approach in relations with both India and China, while also seeking avenues to strengthen ties with other friendly nations.
The engagement between the US Ambassador and Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister reflects the ongoing efforts to foster international cooperation and enhance diplomatic relations.
