Andrew Mitchell, the Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of Britain, is scheduled to undertake a two-day visit to Nepal from February 12 to 13.

This visit closely follows British Army chief Patrick Sanders’ recent four-day trip to Nepal. While an official announcement of Mitchell’s visit is pending, diplomatic sources have confirmed its imminent occurrence.

During his stay, Mitchell is expected to engage in discussions with key Nepali dignitaries, including President Ram Chandra Paudel, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and Finance Minister Prakash Saran Mahat, among others.

This diplomatic mission aligns with the centennial celebration of the 1923 Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Nepal and Britain, highlighting the longstanding historical connections between the two nations.

Mitchell, who assumed office as Minister of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office in October 2022, underscores the sustained diplomatic dialogue between Nepal and the United Kingdom through his visit.
