In his correspondence to the USMLE, including NMBE, ECFMG, and FSMB, Pokharel highlighted recent reports of exam irregularities that have tarnished the reputation of Nepali medical professionals.
He emphasized the need for transparency and fairness in the examination process, particularly in light of allegations that exams were condemned without sufficient investigation, drawing attention from constituents in Virginia’s 10th congressional district.
Pokharel stressed that the integrity of the USMLE exam process is at stake and called for an immediate and transparent investigation to restore confidence in the administration of the exams and ensure equitable treatment of all examinees.
