Today marks the 2568th birth anniversary of Siddhartha Gautam, known reverently as Lord Buddha, the harbinger of peace and enlightenment.
The 2568th Buddha Jayanti was celebrated with great fervor at the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.

The event, held this morning, saw the attendance of over 120 participants, including ambassadors, diplomats, Chinese nationals from various organizations, members of the Nepali community living in China, and media representatives.
In his welcoming address, Ambassador Bishnu Pukar Shrestha extended his greetings on this auspicious occasion.
He underscored the timeless relevance of Buddha’s teachings, which inspire humanity to lead noble, compassionate, and meaningful lives.

Ambassador Shrestha also highlighted the enduring ties between Nepal and China, rooted in the principles of Panchasheel, which symbolize Buddhist spirituality.
The Most Venerable Monk Chang Zang, Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China and Abbot of Beijing Lingguang Temple, elaborated on the profound bond between the peoples of Nepal and China.

He expressed optimism for continued cooperation in fostering peace and prosperity for both nations and the global community.
The event included prayers, singing bowls, meditation, and an exhibition of Buddha’s paintings, celebrating his legacy of peace and enlightenment.

This sacred day, known as Buddha Jayanti, is celebrated with profound devotion and respect, observed annually on the full moon day of Baisakh in the Lunar calendar.

It commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and death of Buddha, all believed to have transpired on this auspicious day.
