He highlighted the significant role of the British Gurkhas, praising their sincerity, sacrifice, and dedication as a crucial element of the bilateral ties. Sunak also recalled the visit of King Charles to Nepal, underlining the special friendship between the two nations.

British PM also expressed admiration for the achievements of the Nepali diaspora in the UK.

Nepal’s Ambassador to the UK, Gyan Chandra Acharya, highlighted the treaty’s significance in Nepal’s international presence and expressed confidence in further strengthening bilateral relations.

British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ann Marie Trevelyan, reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s development goals.

The program, attended by representatives from the Nepali community, former Gurkhas, British MPs, and officials, celebrated the longstanding bilateral ties.

London-based philanthropist Rabindrajung Lamichhane was key in organizing the event, marking Nepal’s first bilateral partnership with the UK in 208 years.

At the function, the book of Hanuman Chalisha was given as a gift from Nepal’s Pranav Jung Lamichhane (10) to British Prime Minister Sunak. When PM Sunak received the book, he was thrilled.

Ambassador Acharya and philanthropist Rabindra Jung Lamichhane welcomed Prime Minister Sunak with garlands and Nepal-made Dhaka Khada.
