Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa who is on a one-day visit to Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at Singha Durbar on Sunday.
The meeting, facilitated by Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Dr. Rupak Sapkota, delved into various topics, including bilateral interests and economic cooperation.

Prime Minister Prachanda expressed gratitude for Japan’s longstanding support in Nepal’s economic and social development, particularly in infrastructure projects.
He highlighted the significance of the high-level visit in strengthening diplomatic ties, anticipating further exchanges between the two nations.
In response, Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa emphasized the enduring warmth in Nepal-Japan relations and pledged ongoing support for Nepal’s economic progress.

The meeting was attended by dignitaries from both countries, including Foreign Secretary Dr. Seva Lamsal and ambassadors.
Minister Yoko Kamikawa’s visit, spanning a day, included bilateral discussions with Nepali counterpart Narayan Kaji Shrestha to bolster ties. Additionally, she explored Kathmandu’s Basantapur Durbar Square, immersing herself in Nepal’s cultural heritage.
This visit signifies her commitment to nurturing the enduring bond between Nepal and Japan, marking her inaugural trip to Nepal since assuming office.
