Chairman Luo Zhaohui of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) extended a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Friday at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
During the meeting, they delved into discussions regarding Nepal’s economic development and the forthcoming Investment Summit, as reported by Dr. Rupak Sapkota, the Prime Minister’s advisor on foreign affairs.

Prime Minister Prachanda expressed satisfaction with the growing relations between Nepal and China, noting the recent surge in high-level exchanges and the momentum behind the implementation of bilateral agreements.
He highlighted the operationalization of additional border checkpoints between the two countries, citing improved convenience for residents of border areas and increasing interest from Chinese investors in Nepal’s Investment Summit.
Chairman Zhaohui mentioned Chinese investors’ eagerness to participate in various sectors, including the construction of Nepal’s power transmission lines and feasibility studies for projects like the Tokha-Chhahare tunnelway.
The meeting was attended by Nepal’s ambassador to China, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ambassador of China to Nepal, Chen Song.
In a separate meeting, Vice-President Yingming Yang of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Prachanda in Baluwatar.
Discussions centered around Nepal’s economic development and the upcoming investment summit. Prime Minister Prachanda emphasized Nepal’s appeal as an investment destination and highlighted ADB’s significant role in the country’s physical infrastructure development.
He assured that Nepal would present viable investment projects at the summit, emphasizing the government’s efforts to create a conducive environment for investment through legal and policy reforms. Vice-President Yang affirmed ADB’s readiness to invest in strategic projects in Nepal and pledged to formulate a comprehensive investment strategy shortly.
Dr. Rupak Sapkota, Foreign Affairs advisor to PM Prachanda, and senior officials from ADB in Nepal were also present during the meeting.
