Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha, currently on an official visit to China, is set to return home today.
During his visit, he engaged in high-level meetings with Chinese political leaders, including Wang Huning, Chairperson of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing.

The discussions during the visit revolved around various aspects of bilateral relations between Nepal and China. Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha met with Vice Minister Sun Haiyan of the Communist Party of China’s Foreign Department. Their talks focused on strengthening ties between the CPN (Maoist Centre) and the Communist Party of China.
Addressing a pre-investment conference at the Nepali Embassy in Beijing, DPM Shrestha encouraged Chinese investors to explore investment opportunities in Nepal. His efforts aimed to foster economic cooperation between the two nations.

During his stay, Shrestha also visited Chongqing Municipality in southwestern China. There, he held a delegation-level meeting with Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the Communist Party of China’s Zhejiang Committee. Shrestha emphasized the shared journey toward economic prosperity for Nepal and China.
Furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha met Wang Junzheng, party secretary of China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, reiterating the importance of mutual progress.
In addressing the challenges faced by people in the Nepal-China border area, Shrestha called upon Wang Zhungheng, party secretary of China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, to find solutions.

Shrestha also visited the Consulate General of Nepal in Lhasa, emphasizing the significance of economic diplomacy.
As part of a delegation, DPM Shrestha explored the Kailash Mansarovar area in Tibet.
Before his return, he met with Sichuan People’s Government Governor Huang Xiaoxiang, urging Chinese investment in Nepal.
Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha embarked on his China visit on March 25 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
