Foreign Minister Shrestha Started High-Level Meetings in Beijing

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, after arriving in Beijing, the capital of China, on Monday, has commenced a series of high-level engagements.

On the very first day of his visit, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha met with Mr. Wang Huning, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau.

Representatives from the Nepal Embassy, Mr. Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, the Nepali Ambassador to China, and the and the deputy chief of mission, Mr. Surendra Yadav, were present during the meeting.

As part of his official visit to the People’s Republic of China, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha was warmly received by Chang Maoming, the Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, and senior officials from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Daxing International Airport in Beijing.

Among the scheduled meetings, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha is set to engage with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi and high-level dignitaries from various provinces in China.

Likewise, Foreign Minister Shrestha will hold discussions with Sun Haiyan, the Deputy Minister of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party.

Throughout his stay in Beijing, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha aims to foster meaningful dialogues with distinguished representatives from several Chinese provinces.
