Nepal has been selected to host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Global Qualifier, marking the country’s first time hosting a global ICC women’s cricket event. The tournament is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from January 12 to February 2, 2026.
Matches will take place at the Lower and Upper Mulpani Cricket Stadiums. The competition will feature 10 teams divided into two groups of five. The top teams from each group will progress to the Super Six stage, culminating in a final. The four best-performing teams will secure qualification for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5, 2026.
Confirmed participants for the Global Qualifier include Bangladesh and Ireland, who qualified through the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, as well as Thailand and Nepal from the Asia regional qualifier and the United States from the Americas regional qualifier.
The remaining five spots will be filled through regional qualifiers from Africa (two teams), Europe (two teams), and East Asia-Pacific (one team). The Africa Division One Qualifier will be held in Namibia from August 31 to September 6, 2025, while the East Asia-Pacific qualifier is set for Fiji in September 2025.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be hosted across seven venues in England and Wales, including Lord’s, Old Trafford, Headingley, Hampshire Bowl, and Bristol, with the final scheduled at Lord’s.
